Kelly Casper Vogiatzis has practiced law in Michigan since she graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2005. She began her legal career in the area of insurance related matters (both pre-suit/investigation and litigation). Her tenacity not only helped her succeed in her studies and professional endeavors but also in multiple Moot Court competitions. Ultimately, she was inducted into the Order of Barristers.
In addition, she was a Cavanagh Scholar recipient and received a Book Award in Securities Regulations. Prior to law school, she held both her Series 7 and 63 licenses while working for two well-known stock brokerage firms. She also attended Wayne State University for her bachelor’s degree where she graduated with Honors and was on the Dean’s List.
In addition to her insurance experience, she worked as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Wayne County. There, she handled a number of cases that received media attention and first-chaired multiple Capitol trials, including arson and cases involving insurance fraud. She also has experience testifying before Legislative Committees regarding pending legislation.
Kelly currently spends her free time with her husband, her daughter, and their dog that they rescued from a shelter. She previously volunteered in the ER and PICU units of Children’s Hospital. She now looks forward to returning to her volunteering when the Covid-related restrictions allow.
