2. Marc Lipton Secured a $650K Medical Malpractice/Wrongful Death Settlement
Managing Partner Marc E. Lipton secured a $650,000 settlement in a medical malpractice and wrongful death case involving a 67-year-old patient who suffered a stroke at a rural hospital.
The hospital staff and neurologist failed to recognize the seriousness of her symptoms and transfer her to a larger hospital in time for treatment. Our team successfully brought the lawsuit in Wayne County and obtained a settlement for her family.

3. Steffani E. Chocron Secured a $700K Senior Living Neglect/Wrongful Death Case
Attorney Steffani E. Chocron recently secured a $700,000 settlement in a nursing neglect and wrongful death case involving a senior apartment community.
Our client, a 92-year-old woman, fell inside her apartment and immediately called for help. More than 12 hours passed before anyone responded, and she tragically died from her injuries three days later.

4. Monroe News Article Regarding Rockwood Boy Scout Leader Accused Of Sexually Abusing Minors (Jody Lipton Quote)
John Sorovetz, the former Rockwood Boy Scout leader accused of sexually abusing minors, has been arraigned on multiple felony counts of criminal sexual conduct, according to The Monroe News. He turned himself in after felony warrants were issued, and authorities say there may be additional victims.
Flood Law and Lipton Law filed the civil lawsuits that first brought these allegations forward. Todd Flood and Jody Lipton said in a joint statement: “Our clients came forward when it would have been easier to stay quiet. Today, Monroe County heard them… We believe our clients. We have from day one.“

Earlier this year, Lipton Law partner Ron Weiner moderated a panel discussing “More Tips and Best Practices for a Successful Facilitation” with Wayne County Circuit Judge Patricia Perez Fresard, Ann Arbor attorney Nakisha Chaney and Southfield attorney Greg Hoelscher. This presentation was done as part of the State Bar of Michigan Negligence Law Section Spring Meeting in Scottsdale, AZ. 10. Joel Sanfield Secured a $2.3M Medical Malpractice Settlement
Attorney Joel Sanfield recently secured a $2,300,000 settlement in a medical malpractice case involving the failure to timely diagnose and treat a ruptured brain aneurysm.
According to the complaint, our client was improperly discharged from the emergency department despite a CT scan that should have identified a leaking aneurysm. The missed diagnosis led to a catastrophic stroke, and our client now requires ongoing care, including a guardian and conservator. Joel’s work helped secure accountability and long-term financial support through a structured trust.
