Michigan Personal Injury Case Referrals

Refer Your Michigan Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice, Nursing Home Abuse, or Complex Tort Case to Lipton Law

No Fee Unless We Recover for Your Client

There are many reasons an attorney might need to refer out a personal injury case: a conflict of interest, a lack of experience with a particular type of claim, a client who lives outside a convenient service area, or simply not having the bandwidth to litigate a complex injury matter properly. Whatever the reason, Lipton Law has built its reputation as the law firm other attorneys turn to when their clients deserve more than their own firms can typically promise.

We are proud to be the go-to personal injury firm for attorneys across Michigan and throughout the country. More than 650 lawyers send us their clients’ personal injury cases, trusting our Southfield-based team to deliver the same dedicated representation we’d provide to any client who walked through our doors directly.

We also serve as local Michigan counsel for out-of-state firms that need experienced boots on the ground here, including for class action and mass tort litigation. If your firm needs a trusted Michigan partner rather than a full hand-off, we can typically accommodate that relationship as well.

How We Handle Attorney Referral Fees

Lipton Law honors referral fees on every case we accept from a referring attorney, and we put that commitment in writing as soon as we’re retained. Michigan Rule of Professional Conduct 1.5(e) allows a referring attorney to be compensated for a referral without actively working the case, provided the client is informed of the fee-sharing arrangement, doesn’t object, and the combined fee remains reasonable.

We build the necessary client disclosure and consent directly into our retainer agreement, so the referral arrangement is documented from day one. We also track referral sources carefully on every file we open. If your client reaches out to us directly rather than going through you first, simply have them mention your name so you’re properly credited.
